I had my annual
fall baking brunch with my friends today. It’s always tough to figure out a day that everyone is free
but I love having potluck brunch get togethers. I try to always have one in the summer
and one in the fall. I usually
theme the summer one after whatever trip I’ve just gotten back from (I’ve done
Italian cappuccino and pasta, Japanese tea and cakes, Spanish tapas and sangria, Vienna tea
with Belgian chocolates and cookies, Thai ice tea and appetizers, etc). Usually I'll give them all a small gift I got for them while abroad as a party favor. I didn’t have a chance to do a Greek
brunch this summer though. Still
the fall one was nice. One year I
did apple turnovers, another year I did pumpkin soup and pumpkin cheesecake, another
year I made strawberry blood orange popsicles and this year I made corn soup
with cornbread and key lime pie.
It’s really nice to have company over. I love getting everyone together
and the food is always great.
