Hospital Bag Packing

Since I hit my 30 week mark, I want to have the hospital and diaper bags packed and ready to go in case I go into labor early.  I got my hospital bag packed and have it by the door.  I’ll probably end up moving it to the trunk as I get closer to my due date and just leave it in the car.  I looked up on The Bump what I’ll need to pack.

The hospital bag gets:

Insurance info

Birth Plan

Baby Book (for hand and foot prints)

2 Pairs of warm Socks to get ruined

Warm Robe or Sweater to get ruined

2 Maternity Bras

Nursing Pads

Several pairs of underwear to get ruined

Nightgown to get ruined

Overnight Maxi Pads (the hospital will also provide)

Lip Balm

Toiletries (hairbrush, toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, soap, deodorant)

Hairdryer

Hair Tie

Sugarfree Candy

Pen and Pad

Change for vending machines (in case cafeteria is closed)

Cell Phone and Charger

Camera

Change of clothes (to go home in)

Baby coming home outfit

Baby blanket

Food/Snacks (protein bars, dried fruit, Fig Newtons, Pringles, applesauce, pretzels)

I’m still working on my birth plan but everything else is packed.  I also read that Baby Be Mine makes great maternity sleepwear which is comfortable and easy for nursing so I’m probably going to get a set, though they are pretty pricey pajamas at around 60 dollars.
