Today I went to
Target to return something and an old woman struck up a conversation with
me. It started with her asking me,
“When are you due?” And then
telling me her granddaughters were both born in March also. She then of course
asked me if I knew the gender.
There was a mother with a toddler in line ahead of us and the kid
started crying. The lady said, “I
hope you’re ready for that. They
just start crying for no rhyme or reason.” It was a short conversation but interesting. I don’t really have much experience
with random strangers striking up conversations with me. It’s rarely happened in my life unless
it was a guy trying to gauge interest.
I had heard that random people will just want to talk to you when you’re pregnant. I suppose it’s something everyone
relates to on some level. I guess being noticeably pregnant makes a woman more
approachable.
