I went over to my friend’s for our annual Christmas Crafts.
We get together every year to make something. We’ve already decorated gingerbread men, gingerbread houses
(she makes the best gingerbread ever), wreaths, painted ornaments and decorated
candle holders plus made candles to go in them. This year we decorated stockings. We each got to make two so I made one for me and one for
Joe. She had a ton of crafting
supplies including ribbon, bells, decorations and bows. I brought over lots of fabric paint. It was really fun and I loved how the
stockings turned out. I think next
to the gingerbread men it was my favorite crafting project to date! She made us calzones for lunch and even
made a egg free chocolate mousse for dessert. We also attempted to make a Christmas ornament out of yarn
but it ended up being more of an experiment that didn’t work at all. Then we watched Batman Returns which is
my favorite Christmas movie. She
always insists that it isn’t a Christmas movie just because it takes place
around Christmas. I agree about
that with movies like Die Hard but Batman Returns is centered around Christmas
and holiday depression. It’s
clearly a Christmas movie. But she
doesn’t agree.
I kind of love
going over to her place during Christmas.
It’s super festive with the decorations and smells (she always has
Christmas candles burning). She
always cooks us lunch and has a tree.
She had some hot apple cider to drink too. It just always feels very warm and cozy at her place. Crafting at her place is one of the
reasons why I love Christmas so much!
She commented on
how I look really small for being almost six months pregnant. She said I look the same just with a
belly and mentioned that her other friend who is the same as me only due one
week earlier is much bigger than I am.
That made me feel really good considering my doctor’s multiple warnings
about my rapid weight gain. She
said she was actually surprised my doctor said that because I look like I haven’t
gained any weight, just a belly. Maybe
it really is all balancing out now.
